What does Kroconnect do?

Kroconnect is a service that makes it easy to send and receive information about orders, customers, products, inventory levels, shipments, and payments between different systems. How does Kroconnect work?

The typical setup involves configuring one or more workflows. What activates, or triggers, a workflow to start is usually an event. An event could be, for example, a new order being created on your e-commerce platform – that is, when a customer makes a purchase. This triggers the workflow to send the order from the online store to, for example, an ERP or accounting system, where a new order is created.

Another workflow can then be set up so that when an order is shipped in the ERP system, the order status in the online store is updated to Completed.

An event doesn’t have to be the triggering factor for a workflow. It can also be a specific time interval that determines when a workflow should run. One example of this could be checking for inventory level changes in a point-of-sale system every 15 minutes and reporting any changes to the online store.

Both of these approaches save you time in your day-to-day work while helping you avoid discrepancies between the systems you use.

How is Kroconnect built?

Kroconnect is a SaaS service. This means that the engine and logic behind Kroconnect is a centralized web service that acts as a hub between your online store and the other systems you use. Through each system’s API, Kroconnect can then fetch and send data between the connections you have enabled.

If you use WooCommerce for your e-commerce, we have developed a plugin you can install. This plugin extends WooCommerce’s functionality, allowing more data to be sent to and from Kroconnect than the standard WooCommerce API provides. It also makes it easier to view and locate certain information retrieved from other systems.
